I've bought XBox 360 from Hong Kong. TV in HK is PAL, but when I look for games should I buy Pal or NTSC-J?
Does all NTSC-J games work on Hong Kong XBOX360 (including games released in Japan)? Will PAL games work on Hong Kong XBOX360? It's very confusing. Thanks for your help

lets see.. if the 360 is a pal console you need either pal games or what they call REGION FREE games. region free plays anywhere. so if i was you, i would try and find a way to rent a pal game and an ntsc game and see which one works. but im pretty sure you will be stuck with pal and region free games. happy holidays!

usually around HK$ 1,000.00, If you are HK citizens, I suggest you go to Travel Expert to ask the information. They are professional agency to provide the air-ticket and hotel. Prompt and efficient. If you are non-HK citizens and don't konw how to go to Travel agency, you can go to the website www.zuji.com.hk or www.priceline.com.hk Sometimes you can check in the www.dragonair.com.hk, they provide special offer tickets to Taipei occasionally. However, dragonair is a little bit more expensive than others due to its brand name.
2 :
Around HKD1,200. Suggest to purchase a package of flight + hotel. The price is around HKD2,500 for 3 days and 2 nights. Cathy Pacific Airlines has more than 10 times flight a day to Taipei. You could check out if there is any bargain tickets.

Hello, I'm overseas and I only have a Chinese cell phone with service from China International. While I was in China I got the service to make international calls, but I don't know if that means if I'm in Taiwan or Hong Kong if I can still use my cell phone?

You need to check the GSM frequency band - that's what determines if you can use it in another country. Taiwan and HK uses 900/1800 and other 3G ones. It should work.

Question about friend coming from Hong Kong and wanting to work in the USA

Question about friend coming from Hong Kong and wanting to work in the USA?
My friend lives in Hong Kong and she ios coming this summer to Pittsburgh to work on her Ph.d. She has no problem with a visa because shes been accepted at the university but she is wondering about her fiancee. She thinks he would not be allowed to work in the USA because theyre not married and wants him to work but legally. I know absolutlely nothing about visas from Hong Kong to the USA. Is there a way for her fiancee to work legally in the USA like a temp visa or something he needs Thanks

Not enough jobs for Americans tell him he is not wanted and should stay home.
2 :
Millions of Americans are out of work.............STAY HOME!
3 :
Exactly what type of visa does her fiance plan on using to come to the USA? Since they are not married nothing she does, like getting an F-1 Student Visa, will have any impact on him and his ability to set foot on American soil. He has virtually no chance of even being allowed to come to the USA for more than 6 months, much less get a job.
4 :
The only way he could get a visa with permission to work would be if he has skills and a US employer to sponsor him for a H1B visa. The engagement would have no impact. Legal permanent residents are allowed to sponsor a spouse or child, but students are in a non-immigrant category and cannot sponsor anyone to the US.

each park has its own annual pass and they are not interchangeable. they will not work at any other park.
2 :
Nope. Sorry. A Disneyland Hong Kong annual passport for is ONLY for Hong Kong. Each resort have their own special Annual Passport that can NOT be used at any other resort. When the Florida park opened and both parks started the annual pass, Disney thought it wouldn't be fair for the Californian Annual Passport Holders ($379.00) to pay the same amount as Floridians ($543.15) especially if a Californian never goes to the Florida resort. (Trust me if you live in CA, you really wouldn't want to go there every year. It's way too much of a hassle to travel there and the cost to travel nowadays is pricey.) That's a big price difference so they decided each resort will have their own. Now if you're loaded, an additional annual passport for another resort is just chuck change.

Hong Kong working hours

Hong Kong working hours?
I am currently looking at moving to Hong Kong planning on working in the accounting or finance field, but am curious as to the typical working hours of white collar staff in Hong Kong, are they still working typically six day working weeks or is that mainly for unskilled labour? Also what is the typical office working day? is it 9am to 6pm

It depends on your job. Most likely the office hour is 9 to 6 Mon to Fri plus a half day on Saturday. White collar in HK works pretty crazy that a lot of people work 8am to 8pm. (The higher your salary is, the more you have to work.)
2 :
it's depends on what co. u r working 4. most of the JAP / USA owned co. work 5 days only now fr Mon to Fri. we dun work 6 days..... top = 5 n a half days only. i mean half day on Sat. like my co. / it's a HK base co. i work 9am to 5:30pm Mon to Fri then long/short week during Sat. so, 5 days a week n the other week 5 n a half days. just like that. in finance field.......u definately = a white collar. so need not work on SUN normally. HK is an exciting place to live. u wil not feel bore in either way. nitelife is even more exciting.... come & join us!

Where should I go? go back to Hong Kong or stay in America

Where should I go? go back to Hong Kong or stay in America?
I am from Hong Kong, going to college in Texas. I am a senior with public relations major. I will graduate in May 2010. I am not a citizen or permanent residence, so it means I have to leave states 3 months after I graduate. I don't know where I should go or do. I love Hong Kong. I love the big city life, food, freedom and many things in Hong Kong. But I am not ready for the hectic life in Hong Kong. Because most of the time, people in Hong Kong work at least 10 hours a day. I have been lliving in states for 3 years, so I am sort of used to the laid-back life style here. I am just not ready for being stressful and hectic. Plus, I like American men more. I am so attracted to them. Because they are more outgoing and gentleman generally. I am so frustrated now. I can't do internship here because I don't have a car. I want to stay in states longer. I like the culture here. I get along with americans. I don't wanna go back to Hong Kong right now., but not for me. American lifestyle is more suitable for me. I don't know what I should do? a little bif of facts about Hong Kong: HK used to be a colony of Britain for more than one century until 1997. But everything in HK remains the same, including education, law, rules, .......it's different from China. We also use different passports,It means my country of citizenship is Hong Kong, not China. We are capitalistic and have our own currency. Geograpically we belong to China, but Hong Kong's whole system and government are different from China. We have the same freedom as states.

You can stay in America, that's fine, but ONLY if somebody offers you a job. You can't decide these things, if you do NOT receive a job offer within 3 months then there's nothing to do but return to Hong Kong. Please do not stay illegally. It's a selfish decision.
2 :
GO BACK TO HONG KONG, ILLEGAL ALIEN !!
3 :
your "country " is still part of china whether you like it or not its part of 2 systems one country in 2047 it will be a total part of china anyway coming back to your question you must find an internship after you graduate if you want to stay longer otherwise you will have to go back if you don't want to be illegal that is sad but that was the deal when you came here
4 :
Why don't you stay in the Texas. Research something besides pubic relations. That way you can stay in Texas a little longer until you decide what to do.
5 :
First, can you stay. second, it's up to you. There are good things and bad things about Hong Kong and the US. But for crying out loud, if you manage to stay in the states, don't stay in Texas!!!!
6 :
wow im ready to get out of the states, but dont want to go to hong kong. tell me whats so great about american men/
7 :
Most americans dont know much about HK. Not all of US is relax, NYC and Chicago etc should be as busy as HK. Every place has its pros and cons. You miss the great varieties of food and shopping of HK, families and friends of HK while overseas. You hate the work & living conditions of HK while in HK. HK is actually a boring place if people live there longer. Both HK and US are not generous welfare state. HK is different from China but is getting more Chinese-like after handover. HK has less racial and criminal problems than US. There should be ways for you to live in the US, but not instantly. There is no perfect place so make you choice after considering all factors.
8 :
I dont quite agree with some of dy's. HK has become much better since the handover, for instance govt people are more quick and alert to the needs of the people, as simple as the cleanliness of the streets and a lot of green are being planted everywhere, one can comfortably conclude that the govt are doing a lot more than before. China is infact conciously learning and copying HK's systems bit by bit, I'm confident that by 2047, mainland China will be converted into HK's systems, more or less. True that the downtown core ie from Causeway Bay to Mong Kok are packed with people and houses but that's exactly what make HK a vibrant city, without the life and hardworking which turn into the city's multiple opportunities, do you think there'ld be so many people wanting to flood into HK daily? Do you know that thousands of people from around the world always dreaming of sneaking into HK? Without the current level of activities, HK will be just as quiet and lifeless as many American towns. Life is on your hand, if you choose to live a relax and carefree life style, you can equally do the same in HK. Just move to remote New Territorities, Discovery Bay or Tung Chung. These places somewhat like the west, very few people, relaxed, lots of green and open space. On top of that HK has a beautiful sea view and mountain view which many American cities dont. Sitting in the balcony of say Discovery Bay or Tung Chung overlooking the sea and the mountain, drinking tea or wine, is so wonderful and relaxed. You could stay a few more years in the US to really see if you like to remain there forever. Home is always the best place to be, sooner or later you'll bound to run into some form "races" conflicts, be it at work or even just doing shopping or walking on the street then you'll realize that living in others' country is not at all the best thing. Afterall pride and dignity on who you are ie Chinese outweighs anything can bring. Besides Hong Kong people probably has the biggest heart for things and people. They're one of the most kind hearted human beings on earth, always ready to donate money and in helping the needys. Go home and help contribute to the continued success of Hong Kong. Good Luck!

It will work with China Mobile, CSL limited, Hong Kong telecommunications, Hutchison, and SmarTone. (they are the only one to use the same frequencies) For calling only. This phone you can't change the settings for texting and internet. So it would be only able to be used for calling. (Not worth it then IMO) The only problem with this phone is that the settings can't be changed. Some phones can be changed, but lately there's been more phones coming out that don't have the option to change the preprogrammed settings. This unfortunately is one of the ones that doesn't work well as an unlocked phone.

I am USA Citizen in Hong Kong on work Visa, I met a filipino woman I want to marry here in Hong Kong.

I am USA Citizen in Hong Kong on work Visa, I met a filipino woman I want to marry here in Hong Kong.?
She is here on work Visa from Phillipines. Can we marry in Hong Kong and then file for spousal Visa so she can go to USA to live with me? She actually wants me to go live in the Phillipines with her rather than go to the USA. I have her resume of schools, including past and current employer as a teacher, not a hooker (or she works for free).. Has proof of all her travels in passport and document that her husband was killed in auto crash. What am I missing here? More: I am age 52 and She is age 33. I have been married and have divorced 2 times with my last divorce in 1999. I met here 2 months ago here in Hong Kong shortly after I arrived here and my project here ends in 2-3 more weeks. She knows that I will be leaving and that is what brings up the marriage word. She wants me to go to the Phillipines and meet her mother in April. More comments or answers?

A filipino? She's probably a hooker! Run away! My friend married one, not only was she a wh0re, but dig this she was married in the phillipines already!!!!
2 :
LOL! It looks like you may one of the many expats targeted by Filippinas for visas & green cards. There's a 99% chance you have a problem on your hands. The Philippines is notorious as #1 in the world for marriage fraud (Thailand is #2, and Russia a close third). How long have you lived in HK? Did you meet her during your first year posted overseas? Does she have less than a university degree? What kind of employment visa does she hold - less than a professional level position? All of these are signs that you are being scammed. Hold off for at least a year on any discussions of marriage. Also, lots of opportunities in Phil. for educated Americans, so suggest that IF you two were ever to get married, you'd want her to sponsor your immigration to the Philippines. If she still wants to marry you if you both live in Phil, maybe she really does love you and want to be with you. But more likely, she wants your Gold card and a green card.
3 :
Well, while a majority of Philipino ladies might be known for the wrong reasons, i don't think it is fair for anyone to stereo type. If you say this lady is a decent person, then who we are to say you are of poor judgment when we have'nt even met her. If you did want to marry her and bring her to the US you will certainly be able to do so, being that you are a US citizen. You have not mentioned for how long you have known this lady though. In my opinion, you should not marry anyone on impulse, and it is always best to give a relationship a good 2 years before entering wed lock. Can't you just live with her for a while and really get to know her ? Visit her family in the Philipines too, that will help you know for sure, if she is a decent person from a proper back ground, and also if she is marrying you for the right reasons and not just as an access to gaining entry into the US. Good Luck !
4 :
I'm a 32-year old Filipino and and my husband is a 52 year old Korean... I'm worried you're rushing into things. You might want to try visiting her first in the Philippines and check her story (and have fun at the beach at the same time). Where's she from? You don't need a visa to go to the Philippines if you're going on a short visit. There are direct flights from Hong Kong to Cebu and Manila. Still if you want to get married, check out this how-to. http://www.squidoo.com/Filipino-Wives

3 :
Working in Hong Kong as a marketing major would be a perfect fit, especially when Hong Kong's status as the international financial center is being recognized by many financial firms and recently Times Magazine naming New York, London, and Hong Kong the "nylonkong". I think English would be enough in the Hong Kong market, considering there are tons of foreign people who work in Hong Kong don't know Cantonese. English is the lingua franca in Hong Kong so you don't need to worry about knowing Cantonese, unless you want to reach deeper into the Hong Kong population. Mandarin would also be another good fit especially many local and foreign firms in Hong Kong uses Hong Kong as the springboard into the Mainland Chinese market. Hong Kong has the most dynamic international lifestyle so you don't need to worry about being a foreigner in Hong Kong because Hong Kongers see foreign faces everyday on the street. There are hundreds of new foreign financial firms every year who set up office in Hong Kong as their sales office or regional headquarters, so I believe if you have a degree in marketing, I'm sure you will get a decent job in Hong Kong and good luck on your life in Hong Kong

you most likely cant. she is just another person trying to get a visa. she is only your GF
2 :
YOU CAN'T BRING A DOMESTICATED HELPER INTO THE UNITED STATES UNLESS YOU MARRY HER.
3 :
It is highly unlikely your girlfriend would be able to get a tourist visa unless she has significant assets and can convince the embassy that there is little to no chance she will overstay. It will also be even more difficult for her to qualify if she applies in Hong Kong rather than her home country.
4 :
She need to finish her contract in Hongkong first, go back to the Philippines and then you start your petition for Fiance (K1 Visa ) or you can get married in the Philippines. And yes, you can use the pics taken in hongkong and keep your airline ticket for proof.
5 :
it's probably going to be very difficult for her to get a tourist visa. so, if you want to file a fiance petition for her, then yes, you'll need to meet her first. it doesn't really matter where.

If you are legally resident in HK, you can apply from there. I applied for my UK visa while I was living and working in Denmark

Hiya, short answer yes. What you need to do is ask the shop if it is locked or not. If it is not locked, they will work anywhere in Europe and Asia. How does Double-Decker bus works in Hong Kong, London, Dunblin, Paris

How does Double-Decker bus works in Hong Kong, London, Dunblin, Paris?
I was wondering how these country work Double-Decker Bus as Mass Transit/Public Transportation. Does driver wait for passenger to get off from top level during the rush hour. I was wondering because Metropolitan Transportation Authority in NY will begin 35-day customer service test on Vanhool Low-Floor Double-Decker Bus loaned by ABC Companies. Can any folks in these mention area, how does Double-Decker bus works as public transportation. Thank you for your cooperation.

The double deck bus has always been the standard type of bus in London and many other British cities (and a lot of the countryside too). They are also normal in Dublin (though not elsewhere in Ireland). There are thousands in Hong Kong too (and these are mostly 3 axle - larger than in Britain). There are currently none in Paris. Though there was a small batch many years ago, they were not a success. However, there are lots of them in Berlin (though not elsewhere in Germany, strangely). People are free to walk up and down stairs when the bus is moving, and often do so. It's true that it can take longer for passengers to alight when there are two decks - but this doesn't cause unreasonable delays. Indeed if you have a single-deck bus that is stuffed full of standing passengers (because there is no top deck!) then that can take just as long to get off. I don't think the driver would be too popular if he didn't wait for everyone to get off and just drove on! In practice that never happens unless someone lags behind others climbing downstairs and the driver doesn't know they are there. They then shout at the driver or ring the bell - he soon gets the message! Be assured that double-deckers are a popular and efficient means of transport in Britain. You'll like them in the US too.
2 :
Double Deckers work like any ordinary bus, just they have two decks (Although some operators, notably Transdev Blazefield, refer to them as "Twin Deck"). In Britain, they're in most areas, as we have an excelent public transport network, to almost anywhere. Basically, they dont take much longer to get on and off. You just go up and down the stairs.

Get up when your almost there?

Hong Kong Payables - can someone provide best practices for setting up an accounts payable department

Hong Kong Payables - can someone provide best practices for setting up an accounts payable department?
We are implementing Oracle in our Hong Kong facility - they currently do everything very manually and need to figure out how to automate their process. Can someone share best practices on payment issuing and how the postal system works in Hong Kong - from what I understand they are currently sending all payments out by messenger and not using any type of postal process also issuing manual checks and I need to automate this - is electronic payments an acceptable process in Hong Kong?

Well, I'm not in Hong Kong. I would purchase an Accounting program. What accounting program are you currently on? Call/ask the company that you have your accounting program with and ask them to add A/P, it will probably cost some $$, but its easier than performing it all manually. Also, some vendors will accept wire transfer, see which ones do that way you won't have to depend on a messenger all the time. But, not all vendors may take wire transfer either. Also, check with your bank and see if they offer this service. Actually, when you think about it. Delivering via messenger is not a bad idea, because when the messenger delivers the payment, the vendor signs & dates for it as received, and you have your proof.
2 :
Labor is cheap in Hong Kong - that's why it is done that way - It is probably more efficient than the automation you want to install - less than 50 years ago - all business were run that way "by hand" well with the exception of maybe hand delivering checks but even that was done on a limited basis - it was proven much more accurate than today's computer generated fodder

Don't work as an illegal worker, and 15000 HKD is like nothing to live in HK which is one of the costliest place on earth.

Under those conditions even though it may be a better job, I dont think that I would risk it if I was you. But then again I am not you, you need to do a pro and cons list and see what that highlights and you may find a better job where you are. Good luck.
3 :
don't do it. I've been looking into working there too. there is plenty of genuine jobs there, with employers willing to do it right and treat you well from the start. just keep looking. You do not want to break the law in a country where you do not understand the language, law or culture.

usa uses 1900 mhz frequency before you buy make sure the phone supports that frequency.
2 :
If the phone is GSM 1900/850 it will probably work with AT&T and T-Mobile (as well as a few regional GSM carriers). However, you get nothing free. You get the service you pay for.
3 :
If the phone is quadband (most of the phones are now) and unlocked, it will work fine. If the phone has WiFi, you can use internet for free. If the phone supports HSPA+ 1700/2100 MHz, you can even get 3G on it.

Which city would be most ideal for a 2-year stay/work and why-Hong Kong,Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore

Which city would be most ideal for a 2-year stay/work and why-Hong Kong,Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore?
..for a family of two kids. One with convenient transportation, great food, good schools, reasonable cost of living, efficient govt, interesting culture, cleanliness and safety? Thanks in advance for your useful inputs? :-))

2 :
For your input for the criteria of your ideal working place for you and your family, Singapore will be a better contender as Singapore has a convenient transport network, great food as Singapore is a melting pot of all Asian cuisine. Cost of living wise is still quite reasonable compared to western standard. Government efficient wise, Singapore is the best. For interesting culture, Singapore has 4 interesting cultures. For cleanliness and safety, Singapore tops it all.
3 :
i choose singapore
4 :
You'll have more savings if you choose Kuala Lumpur. Plenty of good international school. Regulation and govt are adequate. Cleanliness, my impressions are better then Bangkok but little less then the other two. For safety it is also better then Bangkok. Culture, Malaysia is between Thailand and Singapore. You'll have Malay culture as well as parts of Indonesian, China and Indian. .
5 :
If I were you I'd choose between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. I would never prefer Bangkok over KL or Singapore, although I have been there 3 times, and it is a great city, but for families, for living, its much much better to settle down in KL or Singapore. I can describe KL and Singapore easily, since they're really similar. they are both extremely modern and tidy. You can't see a cigarette butt on the sidewalks, and you can't find any carbage thrown on the roads. Both countries are really safe, and also really interesting. Their culture is fascinating. Kuala Lumpur is a little bit cheaper than Singapore, but Singapore is cheap too. For instance, a bottle of soda costs 25 US cents, and McDonalds is the cheapest in the world. (In KL a Big Mac Meal costs 2.50 american dollars.)-In Singapore a bottle of soda is less than 1 dollar. In Singapore education is on a higher standard than in Kuala Lumpur, but it doesn't mean the Malaysian schools are bad. (if I had a choice I wouldn't hesitate taking my kids to a school in KL at once) You need to know that the University of Singapore is one of the best ones in the whole world. As a tourist I prefered KL, because there's just more life in it, Singapore is a bit too organized and "too clean", if you know what I mean. Kuala Lumpur has many great places to see, beautiful old churches, and at the same time, high tech skyscrapers. KL is said to be the greenest capital of the world. Although there are many cars buildings in the downtown, walking on the streets you can feel like being in a jungle, with all the green trees and flowers around you. People are very helpful, but they don't smile. I haven't been to Hongkok yet, but it must be a cool place too:) good luck

If you are a foreign national living in Hong Kong without proper documentation, then you are an illegal alien. You should discuss your situation with Hong Kong immigration authorities.
2 :
You must have a job and the employer willing to sponsor your wroking visa, otherwise it's better that you leave Hong Kong as soon as possible than being captured and deported. It's not to your interest to just hide and work as an illegal alien, you'll likely get exploited and not paid for the job as happened to all illegal immigrants around the world. Hong Kong can be a very expensive place to stay without job, my advice find a employer or else go home.
3 :
You are illegal immigrant. you have to move through local attorney
4 :
Illegal economic migrants like you not only defame your own home country but also give it a bad repute. Go back where you belong to and immigrate through a proper & legal process.

Do people in Hong Kong, China & Taiwan work on Saturdays

Do people in Hong Kong, China & Taiwan work on Saturdays?
I am calling companies in China, Hong kong & Taiwan to find a right manufacturer for a certain product we need. Just trying to get an idea if it is worth my time to call these factories on saturday?
China - 9 Answers

yes even sundays
2 :
There is no definite answer to your question. Just like what the first answerer posted, some companies might work on Sundays but that is not very common. Some companies open on Saturday either half or full day, but some choose to have alternate or every Saturday off. Why don't you call Mon-Fri or contact them by email first.
3 :
In Mainland China the workers that work for Chinese companies work 7 days a week or at least 6 that being Sat. In Taiwan and Hong Kong they have Sat off unless it is a service job that is open 7 days a week like Mc Donald's. I lived in Mainland China and watched so many people work 7 days a week from day break to dark.
4 :
In China, many factories and manufacturers work six or seven days a week. If you are trying to call the mainland this week (May 1), then you should know that it's a holiday time period. Many places will be closed, at minimum, May 1, 2 and 3. Some a bit longer. Some places may close all week long, depending upon the owner, etc. Hard to say as this year, the May 1 holiday is not a "golden week" in my part of the country. In spite of that, many professors cancelled classes, etc., and many shops are closed so that people could travel. Regardless of location, everyone should be back working full strength by May 10.
5 :
No, Saturdays and Sundays are off days. But if the manufacture has good business,or emergency orders, they will work 7 days a week, 24 hours, shift around.
6 :
Most Chinese manufacturing companies have marketing staff available 7 days per week. Call between 0900 and 1800 China Standard Time (CST).
7 :
In China and Hong Kong it varies between companies. Many of the big cities in China require that staff work on saturday for half a day (which means they do nothing on that day). Hong Kong is similar. Sales people are working long hours and often communicate with email and mobile phones, which means they are effectively on call 24 hours a day. I would say wait until monday, because a saturday call might get a quick response, while on monday they will take the time and effort to do this work properly (just like I avoiding calling companies with complex enquiries on a Friday, because they often have forgetten in by monday)
8 :
In Hong Kong, usually Saturdays are off. Some will have half-day or alternative Saturdays e.g. this Saturday could be a working day, and next weeks' Saturday is off-day, followed by another week with work again etc. Usually sales / marketing offices are up to Saturdays, for production or manufacturing office, the work could go 7days/week and depending on the load of orders. As for Taiwan, I'm not sure, you better ask it on Taiwan section.
9 :
in HK, we 5 & a half day. means work half day til 1pm on Sat. n off at pm + SUN whole day. but some USA, Europe co. in HK just work 5 days. depends...... n in china, most of the ofc work 6 full days. just off SUN. taiwan abt the same as HK.

Moving back home to USA, leaving behind Hong Kong and China Debt. Any consequences

Moving back home to USA, leaving behind Hong Kong and China Debt. Any consequences?
I'm a USA citizen but currently living and working in Hong Kong until mid-summer. I have a few loans from Chinese banks, what happens if I move back home to the USA this summer and never return to China again and completely ignore all debt with the Chinese banks? I realize that I'll have trouble returning to China but I'm not planning on ever returning (as you know the USA and China's credit system are completely independent from each other). Thanks.

I think you'd be safe unless they send the ninjas...but that probably depends on how much you owe
4 :
A debt collection agency might track you down. The FBI would certainly investigate your case and you might be extradited (sent back via the gov) because not paying off debts is illegal. Just because you are moving from a country doesn't mean your debts are nullified. If you would like to spend 30 years in a Chinese prison, I would recommend you don't pay off those debts.
5 :
Well, then you will inherit the karma of someone ripping you off in the future. Character is how someone acts when they think no one will find out. You just pretty much laid out what your character is.
6 :
you are good to go! Banks are stupid, that's why so many people go around and legally rob them. I once made 500 grand by going to about 15 different countries and get loans that I never repaid. Dude are you kidding, they will find you and you will have to repay it. Unless you like to pay for everything in cash and don't plan on having any kind of loan ever again.
7 :
They will track you down. China might not, HK will as they have a very structured and stable banking system.
8 :
This is an very interesting. Legally, you are obligated to the debts. But depending on the amount of the debts, the creditors may or may not make their efforts to track you down. More and more Chinese banks go international. They team up with some collection agents in the States to take care of delinquency accounts. Now they are focusing on certain big accounts only.

Yes you can marry in Hongkong, they are not strict, they don't check they only depend to the information that you gave, but the only thing you cannot go in Britain as an immigrant because the embassy will check everything, the embassy will ask a proof from NSO which all the records of marriage filed.

Now, dont take my 100% word on it and rush off, but I'll do my best to help from experience. A while back I went to Norway with some family and friends (departing from the US) and found a lot of electronics (as most intl. travelers know) don't work unless they were purchased/made in/for that specific country. However you can purchase adapters (or a universal adapter) from some electronic stores which allow you to use the item originally used for the US (for instance) in other countries like the UK, Norway, and so forth. I would assume, as most LCD screens/Televisions nowadays are sold both in the US as well as Hong Kong and other eastern countries that if anything all you would need would be a plug adapter. Hope that helps!
2 :
It's somewhat complicated but here's what I know If you buy from the united states I am 100% sure it won't work. The united states is on a 60 hz while hong kong is on 50% It will wreck the tv not to mention the power plug is different and the voltage is double in hong kong. It won't work if you buy from Australia because the power plug is different, but the voltage and hz mach. The UK has the best chances of working the frequency is the same 50 hz, the power plug is the same, but the voltage in the UK is 220 volts and the voltage in Hong Kong is 230-240 but I think that should work most appliances can take a wide variety of voltages
