Are applications for Chinese visas being rejected in Hong Kong now?
I am a British citizen currently preparing to travel to Hong Kong to apply for my Z visa so I can teach English in China. I have all the required documents and only need to travel to the embassy in Hong Kong to apply. However, I have heard that some people are being rejected visas from the Chinese embassy in Hong Kong possibly due to the Olympic games. This message has also appeared on the Hong Kong Chinese Embassy web site: "NOTICE (2008/04/13) Visa applicants are increasing in a large number and need longer waiting time in the visa office recently. If you don't reside or work in Hong Kong permanently, you are required to apply Chinese visa from the Embassy or Consulate-General of Peoples' Republic of China in your resident country. You are welcome to China for tourism, business, visit of the Olympic Games." Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Visas were available same day service, now it is next day service. I have heard of no one being rejected. Of course it changes here without notice recently. Also, I must add that this applies to Americans. I know British and Canadians can get one day visa service in Macau, but it isn't clear about Hong Kong. Americans can't get a visa in Macau.

You don't need a visa to HK. You can just use your passport and stay in HK for 30 days

You don't need a visa for Hong Kong however, they've tighened restrictions on entering Mainland China via Hong Kong.

youll need a power adapter and you can play the games made there because the ps3 blu ray disc used for games is universal

If you bought a ps3 in HK the ps3 there is 220V and it an NTSC/Asia and it can play USA games so you be able to play usa, asia, japan games but not UK it on B/2 region for blu-ray disc the region of USA, ASIA and JAPAN is on A/1 region of Blu-Ray Disc.

I'm want to buy a digital camera and I am going to Hong Kong for my work in a couple of weeks. Will it be cheaper to buy a camera in Hong Kong than it is to buy in London? Will the power work when I get back?

Make sure that the factory warranty is not exclusive to Hong Kong since you need an overseas warranty that covers the U.S. You are planning to use the camera in the U.S.? Good luck!
