Hi, would a North American PS3 work in Hong Kong, in terms of voltage, electrical frequency etc...? Thanks?
thanks for all the answers, but after looking at sam's and sickcallaway (Sarcastic Joker), does it mean that i only need a travel adapter?

No. Their wiring and all is completely different, just like most places in the world all vary on that.

depending if you have the outlet adapter to work overseas,but i would just use batteries instead man...

The general consensus is that all PS3s have a built-in voltage converter so in that regard all you should need is a PS3 power cable for the Hong Kong outlets. However, it never hurts to buy a power converter to be safe. Its a $400+ machine after all. In addition to the link, I have only seen success stories and not stories of failure regarding the built-in power converter issue. You'll only need a different power cable or plug adapter if the current PS3 power cord doesn't fit into the Hong Kong outlet. You don't need a power converter of any sort.
