That's a wonderful goal, to want to help disabled children. Footprints Recruiting Incorporated is an agency that recruits English teachers for Asian countries including China, Vietnam and Korea. They might be able to place you in Hong Kong if you apply. Their website: www.footprintsrecruiting.com

Yes of course. Just make sure you can learn cantonese and read some chinese and you'll be able to survive in Hong Kong.
4 :
sure, why not. better start brushing up on their language.

Yes, there is a big community of American expatriates living and working in Hong Kong. It is a very open city - anyone can live and work here, as long as they can find someone to employ them and arrange for their working visa. Edit: many people are suggesting you learn Cantonese, the local language. It's totally unnecessary. Very few expats speak any Cantonese, and all the locals you need to speak to will understand English. If you want to learn a language, learn Mandarin Chinese instead, because otherwise you won't be able to venture over the border into Mainland China.

You need a working visa before you start working in Hong Kong, mostly you have to apply a job and the company would help you get the visa.

How many years of experience are required for foreigners to work in Hong Kong/Singapore

How many years of experience are required for foreigners to work in Hong Kong/Singapore?
How many years of experience are required for foreigners to work in Hong Kong? How many years of experience are required for foreigners to work in Singapore? How many years of experience are required for foreigners to work in Taiwan? Thanks! Primarily, the problem is I graduated from college May 2008, so up until now, I only have 1 year of full-time work experience. I believe that China and Taiwan both require 2 years of work exp. for foreigners to qualify for a work permit.

The country's government will give you a work permit as long as you've secured a job in some company. At least that's how it is in Singapore. I imagine the case would be similar in the other countries. From the company's point of view, as long as you fulfil their requirements, they'll be glad to hire you. If you apply for an entry position, of course not much experience is needed. But if you apply for the position of a Director, obviously you'll need lots more experience.
