It's not so much about the weight and appearance, rather the fate, luck and the manager working behind that are more important in turning anybody into a hit, as in any entertainment business around the world. if you handle it correctly, it won't... with good guanxi and appropriate cover you can do anything in China... i came from Ukraine to seek a job in Shanghai... i found that prostitution is banned in China... lot of Ukranian girls have found innovative techniques... open a front operation... job as translator, in massage parlors... be innovative, develop guanxi and you will be fine... :D

Thailand is the place for you. Lots of Chinese go there for that kind of stuff. Just don't say that you are a male it be bad for your business.

I know this is not really what you're asking, but I second the response of the answerer above. Thailand is a great place for female impersonators. They have them in all shapes and sizes. There's several "ladyboy" shows that perform every night for tourists... and they have performers of all sizes.
